Writer's Bio
Science Fiction - Horror - Dramedy
C.J. Waligora is a transgender, queer-female screenwriter currently based in Chicago. She first found her passion for writing through local activism in her hometown of Fishers, Indiana, advocating for the rights of herself and her local LGBTQ+ community. She combined that passion with her love of classic Sci-fi, such as Stalker, Alien, John Carpenter's The Thing, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, and many more, to develop her own voice in screenwriting.
C.J. honed her craft at Columbia College Chicago and alongside her cohort of writers in the screenwriting club "Tablewrite," where she has written two feature films and over a dozen short films. Her most recent project, Red Rectangle, is a sci-fi short film that explores the effect that trauma has on memory with a unique non-linear narrative. Red Rectangle is in post-production, set to premiere May 2023.
